Authentic charm meets modern day comfort Casa La Alegria was originally part of a traditional Spanish Cortijo; a typical country farmhouse, which would have served to work the surrounding land and livestock.
Over the years it has been extended by the original owners as the family grew and to include a main cottage and separate stable annex (Los Establos.)
Whilst respecting the original features of the property, we have renovated this beautiful space to into a three bedroom, three ensuite bathroom ‘Casa Rural’ guest house. We have creatively redesigned both the interior and exterior space, working together with local craftsmen and suppliers to maintain the rustic feel of the property.
Now our guests get to experience all the charm and character of an authentic Spanish Cortijo, with all the comfort and convenience of 21st century features.
FEATURES AND FACILITIES
Nature calls
In addition to the accommodation space, Casa La Alegria gardens and grounds cover approximately 4000m2 in total. We have lovingly built the outdoor space to include over 500m2 of terraces, a cosy courtyard and the poolside patio where our guests can sit back and relax enjoying the surrounding countryside views. It’s here you can truly embrace life in the warm Spanish sun, feeling truly at peace with the sound of birdsong and the sunset calls of the cicadas.
The gardens and orchard are beautiful and continue to evolve with the seasons. It’s a joy to see how the colours, fruits and fauna adapt overtime and its easy to become lost in this natural world.
We have been painstakingly planting since taking over the property with the guidance of Peter Wilkins from Costa y Campo. Peter comes with expert green fingered experience having worked at Kew Gardens in London. We are eternally grateful for his help and advice in crafting the perfect Andalusian country garden.
We have recently introduced 200 new native trees, shrubs, plants and flowering pots to bring a new lease of life into the grounds.
There is an array of unique floral features within the gardens for our guests to explore and enjoy. We are sure you will spot the huge rockery with over 30 Aloe Vera plants, some already quite impressive in size. In the Spring and Summer there are also 100´s of Iris that make for quite a spectacular show.
Elsewhere in the garden are an abundance of citrus, nut and fruit trees which provide a blaze of colour and some delicious treats throughout the year.

Cool off in the pool
There is no better escape from the heat of summer than a cooling dip in the pool.
Our Pool area is surrounded by a secluded private terrace which provides sun loungers and parasols to relax basking in the sun. For those that seek shade, we have a large, covered rattan seating area to relax. A perfect spot to enjoy your coffee in the morning or a cool refreshing drink at sundown.
As a small, private guest house you can enjoy the use of the pool area almost exclusively for yourself. Free from crowds and noise, its one of the most refreshing ways to indulge in a tranquil break from the stresses of everyday life.
